Physical Description

Small 3-4.5 inch snout to vent, bright light green with light bluish hue mid-dorsally, two rust colored bars on the snout and a thin broken mid-dorsal stripe extends from the middle of the head to the middle of the back. Many small rust colored spots on the back. Ventral surface is lemon yellow. 

Natural Habitat   

Rain forest species from the Comoro Island of Moheli

Behavior  

Diurnal, males are territorial,

Diet

Insects, nectar and pollen  

Reproduction  

One to two eggs are laid at 3-4 month intervals and take up to 2 months to hatch

Sexual Dimorphism

Males have enlarged femoral pores and slight hemipenile bulges

Longevity

Smaller species live 3-8 years. larger species can achieve ages of up to 20 years
