Feeding the crickets to your animal

feeding - click to enlarge - opens in a new pop-up windowOne method to get the crickets out of their colony and into your pet's enclosure is to cut the bottom 3/4 off of a 2 liter soda bottle. Place some toilet tissue rolls in the cricket colony and let the crickets climb in and on them. Shake the crickets into the 2 liter bottle and dust if you prefer, then empty them into your pets enclosure.

feeding - click to enlarge - opens in a new pop-up windowThis is a Veiled Chameleon "bowl feeding". This is one method of feeding. Bowl feeding allows closer monitoring of food intake.

 

feeding - click to enlarge - opens in a new pop-up windowAnother method is to "free roam" the crickets and allow the animal to "hunt". Free roaming provides exercise and entertainment for the animal.

Each method has its pros and cons.
