Chameleon's Eye AWARD Judge's Bio

Judge's Bio

My Bio

This picture was taken in 1986 while I was on a cruise on board the U.S.S. Nimitz. That is a real camel and one of The Great Pyramids in the background. The hustle being run by the local people involved them asking you to have your picture taken on their camel. They would use your camera and after you climbed on the monstrous beast (some were as tall as 8 feet), they would not let you off until you paid for the picture. Notice I am standing next to the camel, NOT sitting on him. I got the heads up and refused to climb on. He still wanted me to pay for the picture but I passed on that great deal.

I am not an IT professional, and I do not work in the computer or internet industry. I have been working with computers for over TWENTY years and have been surfing the internet for the past FIFTEEN or so years. I know what I like to see in a website, and I am interested in learning as much as possible about this wonderful medium.

The Chameleon's eye award program IS MY SECOND AWARDS PROGRAM. I HAVE LEARNED A GREAT DEAL FROM THE PROCESS OF JUDGING OTHER SITES AND PUTTING MY SITE OUT THERE FOR OTHERS TO CRITIQUE. I HAVE MADE ENORMOUS IMPROVEMENTS IN BOTH MY WEBSITE AND MY AWARD PROGRAM in the ten years that I have been seeking and giving awards.

I am owner/webmaster and designer of my son's school marching band website http://rebelbrigade.com and My job's food safety website  http://foodsafety.chamownersweb.net as well as the home site for the chameleon's eye award - chamownersweb. I have operated other websites for the cub scouts and boy scouts and am currently the computer merit badge counselor for my troop.

My main website, ChamownersWeb has received over 80 quality awards to date and I expect that number to continue to grow. It is also listed as a Key Resource on Award Sites!.

I have served as a certified cem/cema website evaluator, wecp certified website evaluator, member of HTML writers guild and international Webmasters association.

While not as impressive as many AP judges, my resume displays a continued interest in the growth of a better and useful internet.

I believe the most important aspect of any AP is to judge consistently and fairly regardless of subject matter (provided that it meets stated criteria) and to hold all websites up to the same standard as my own.

I am a member of
The WECP™ is the Website Evaluators Certification Program which is designed to teach basic evaluation skills to novice AP owners or evaluators looking to further credentials. APEX (Association for Positive Ethical eXchange). We are a group of Internet users whose goal is to maintain a standard of ethics in our dealings or associations with all people and organizations which use the Internet to sell, buy or eXchange products and information.
The HWG was founded in 1994 as the World Wide Web's leading training organization for the Web design community, with over 150,000 members in more than 160 countries world-wide. Professional Development shall be the cornerstone of the IWA
The ADCHAM list is designed for discussion between advanced chameleon keepers, field workers, and others interested in these animals. Its primary purpose is to act as a conduit between advanced keepers of chameleons in captivity and the scientific community.
